The TigerNut “is a root vegetable (not a nut) that originates from Northern Africa and the Mediterranean. TigerNuts are loaded with fiber in the form of Resistant Starch, a prebiotic that actually helps our bodies to develop probiotics. They are rich in iron, potassium, and other essential nutrients.”
Organic Gemini is a company that uses TigerNuts as the centerpiece for many different types of products, including a beverage called Horchata, a gluten- free flour, a cold-pressed oil, and of course the raw organic TigerNuts themselves. Check out the full line of Organic Gemini products on their website.
I got to try the TIGERNUT HORCHATA VARIETY PACK
I had never tasted anything like it before.
Banana is definitely my favorite, followed by the Strawberry and Chai flavors. I mixed the Coffee flavor in my morning pot of coffee..just because. I made fruit smoothies out of the Unsweetened and Original varieties because of the sediment (Resistant Starch) which is PREbiotic fiber that fuels the growth of PRObiotic bacteria but does not feel so great in your mouth in my opinion. You have to shake the bottles well before drinking, but I am a bit particular about how the textures are of what I drink. I prefer a nice smooth, thick smoothie. I never drink any of the non-dairy beverages I consume almost daily by themselves. I am all about mixing the healthiest ingredients I can find in the blender with delicious frozen fruit, chocolate hemp protein powder, etc.. The original and unsweetned TigerNut Horchata were perfect healthy substitutes for the soy or cashew milk I mix in my daily smoothies.
