I’m the baker of the family so I’m a bit of a nut when it comes to my kitchen utensils. I love my gadgets and gizmos and I have plenty!! If I see something new come out that I think that I will use at SOME point in baking or even cooking I will buy it or try to review it. I have a huge drawer full of measuring cups and spoons that I buy at random stores that the writing has washed off that I still keep for some reason. I have yet to find any that haven’t washed off, broke, or just wasn’t really well made. I was searching the internet a little while ago looking for new measuring spoons, and came across Utensi.com.
Utensi.com makes/sells long handles beautifully crafted wooden measuring spoons. Made from premium beech wood with 9 in long handles. Comes with 1 TBSP, 1 TSP, 1/2 TSP, 1/4 TSP and tied together beautifully with a leather strap. The long handles are extremely great to have when cooking/baking with sugar, flour or even anything with tall canisters and keeps you from getting your hands messy. I love the design and the fact that I can leave them out on my counter for display and grab as I need them. I make special tea and I measure out 1/4 tsp ground ginger; I loved that I can measure, then stir with the same spoon! They are all great for stirring, sauteing, crafting, tasting, cooking, baking and more. They have been tested on accuracy- and can be used for wet and dry ingredients. I am so happy that I was able to add these measuring spoons to my kitchen tools, since the amounts are etched into the wood I don’t have to worry about it washing off. I was able to throw away 2 different sets of ruined spoons in my drawers. I really hope some day they consider making measuring cups, too!
