Fix-It and Forget-It Cooking for Two Cookbook

Fix-It and Forget-It Cooking for Two Cookbook

Since I’m recently moved out of my parents house, it gets hard for me to make my own meals most of the time since either me or my boyfriend or at work. With the Fix-It and Forget-It Cooking for Two cookbook, I can put slow cooker meals in the crock pot and it will be done by the time I get home from work. This cookbook has been my saving grace because the recipes are so easy even my boyfriend can throw it in while I’m at work and he won’t even have to worry about having to stir it or anything, the crock pot does it all on its own.

I have tried quite a few recipes from this cook book but we have a few favorites already; Poor Man’s Steak (recipe below), Chicken Meal-in-a-Crock, and Easy Parmesan Chicken. We are looking forward to trying all of the recipes in this book. I did learn a lot of cooking from my mom but to be able to have this cook book will make things a lot easier in my busy early adult life. I know I’m going to be using this cook book a lot more and it’s very easy to just multiply the recipe for a bigger family or even just for a date night. I highly recommend this cook book to anyone with a crock pot looking for good and easy slow cooker meals.

‘Poor Man’s Steak’

  • 1 lb Ground Beef

  • 1/2 cup Saltines

  • 1/2 cup Milk

  • 1 onion

  • Salt and Pepper

  • 1/4 cup Flour

  • Can Cream of Mushroom Soup

  • 1 cup Milk

  • Mix beef, saltines, 1/2 cup milk, onion, salt and pepper.

  • Form mixture into patties.

  • Brown the patties.

  • Place patties into crock pot.

  • Cover patties with soup and 1 cup milk.

  • Cover and cook for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.

While working on her master’s degree when her daughter was young, Hope turned to her slow cookers for some salvation and sanity. It was from there she began truly experimenting with recipes and quickly learned she had the ability to get a little more creative in the kitchen and develop her own recipes.

The Doorway Jungle Gym

The Doorway Jungle Gym

Since it is winter time and it is very cold outside, I find it hard to find ways to entertain my kids. With them not being able to play outside for too long without even getting bored or it being too cold. I finally found a way to entertain my kids from inside of the house! With The Doorway Jungle Gym from Hammacher Schlemmer, my kids have a swing set right inside our house! The set up looks just like my oldest son’s pull up bar for his bedroom door. The only difference between them is that the one for the kids comes with attachments for them to have all of their fun!

The jungle gym comes with five different attachments for your kids to choose from and I must say my kids love them all. The first attachment is a pair of rings with a trapeze in between them so your kids can hang upside down in between them. My six-year-old loves this one because he loves hanging around and acting like a monkey. The second one is a ladder which my kids don’t play with too much but when they do, they like to pretend they are on American Ninja Warrior. The third attachment is just a rope with knots to make it easier to climb and my kids treat this like the ladder while playing.

There is another set of rings to flip on and they don’t have a trapeze in the middle so my kids do little flips on them. The last attachment is their favorite; it’s a swing so we don’t even have to go to the park for my kids to have fun. Whenever I’m either on my computer or putting on a movie, we will put up the swing and everything is fine. This is probably one of my favorite things I’ve ever gotten to try out because not only can the kids have fun put parents can too because each attachment can hold up to 300 pounds. My husband and I have been on the swing and it is actually pretty fun! This Doorway Jungle Gym is fun for all ages and I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone with kids! The great thing about The Doorway Jungle Gym system is it is simple to put up in the doorway and easy to move from room to room. There is no screws, bolts, or nails so even in our apartment it won’t ruin the walls or ceilings.

MyCharge Reviews

We are always running here and there and with my boys having their own cell phones and/or tablets, we can’t risk them running low on battery when we are out. My biggest fear is if my oldest son who just started driving this past year doesn’t have any battery left to call in case of an emergency. MyCharge has multiple portable chargers for any of your charging needs. I was able to review two different chargers for my boys.

MyCharge RazorPlus: This charges is super thin that for my boy will fit in his back pocket while on the go, or even in his backpack. Made from anodized aluminum, the RazorPlus will charge your phone or other devices an extra 13 hours. Must be powered by a USB port. Available colors are blue, red and grey. Comes with a recharge cable and a quickstart guide. Seen above is the color grey.  Only weighs .22 pounds.

AdventureMini: This mini charger is perfect for any outdoorsman or in my case I got it for my youngest son to charge his tablet when we are on our trips or on-the-go. I picked this one mostly because of how young he is I knew that even though he takes very good care of his stuff, just in case he does drop it, it won’t break. The outer shell of this case is rubbery and rugged to withstand splashing, dist, and even dropping. It also comes with a carabiner clip to keep it close to you or clip on your bags. Included with your AdventureMini is ta recharger cable and a quickstart guide. Only weighs .20 pounds.

I absolutely love MyCharge chargers for my family- and they also come to you already charged fully.

About (taken from website): Our devices integrate built–in charging cords that emphasize portability and versatility, and powerful lithium polymer batteries that allow you to quickly charge your smartphone, tablet, eReader and other devices so they’re ready when you need them. From power banks to power cases, the diverse set of innovative myCharge solutions ensure you’ll never be stranded again. Ditch your dependency on cables and wall outlets – and let myCharge make your life a bit easier.

Hip Baby Wrap

Hip Baby Wrap

I am a new foster mom to beautiful little 7 month old who we are awaiting custody of.  With her making the 3rd child I have under the age of 6 years old, I knew I needed to start either wrapping or carrying her in a sling. Now, I have never done this with my other children although I have tried, they just never took to being that close and confined. This little one is a NAS baby so I figured she would take to being in the sling well as she loves being held all the time.  I was thrilled when Hip Baby Wrap reached out to me to review a ring sling for them. It was the perfect time as I was already looking to purchase one anyhow.

The ring sling they sent me to review was the Summer Rainbow Ring Sling. Its absolutely beautiful with all of the colors. I get worried with carriers and wraps because of having large breasts, that nothing will fit me properly with the baby in it. We are always running around and trying to stay active and the last thing I want is to keep her in her carseat carrier. My oldest son is a high school wrestler so this has come in handy at all our meets. The picture above is the first time I put her in it and she was as snug as a bug in a rug. I was even so comfortable myself; my back didn’t hurt from carrying her around for 2 hours and there was no fussing from her.

The ring sling is easily used for babies and toddlers weighing 8-35 pounds; easy to adjust between belly to belly and hip carry. Made with 100% cotton which is breathable and hand- loomed. Hip Baby Wrap’s are machine washable and dryable- to me as a mom is a huge plus. I always have my ring sling in my diaper bag to make sure I never forget it at home!
