Hangin’ with my PEEPS

download (7)

When I was give the chance to review the all popular Easter candy PEEPS. My kids were just about floored when I told them the good news. They sent me a huge box of all kinds they sell for Easter. I was able to get one good picture before all the goodies got tore into.

I was able to come up with a creative idea to take to Easter lunch/dinner

Chocolate Cake
– 3/4 cups butter, softened
– 3 eggs
– 2 cups sugar
– 2 cups flour
– 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 tsp baking soda
– 3/4 tsp baking powder
– 2 tsp vanilla
– 1 1/2 cup milk
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
2. Grease and flour the pan(s) you will be using.
3. Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and the baking powder. Set this to the side.
4. Beat butter, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl. Gradually add sugar.
5. Beat on medium to high speed for 3-4 minutes.
6. Alternate combining the flour mixture and the milk to the batter while beating. Continue until the batter is smooth.
7. Pour into the pan(s) and bake for 30-40 minutes depending on the pan used.
Chocolate Frosting:
– 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
– 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
– 1 stick butter, softened
– 3-4 tbsp heavy cream
– 1 tsp vanilla
1. Sift sugar and cocoa together in large bowl.
2. Combine 1 cup sugar mixture with butter and 1 tbsp cream in another bowl until smooth.
3. Add another cup sugar and 1 more tbsp cream, beating well.
4. Continue until all is combined (except vanilla) and the frosting is fluffy.
5. Beat in vanilla.
6. Spread frosting on top of cake or cupcakes!

Bake your cake with instructions included in the recipe. Let it cool completely before frosting as it can tear the cake up.

Line your cake in any color PEEP you would like.

I think that this would even be an amazing cake for a baby shower.

I added the Milk Chocolate Egg to the top and added the yellow chick and a friend.

Another idea: Gender reveal parties are becoming more and more popular. The little egg on top would be awesome to store the color chick of the gender of the baby.

Leave me some love tell me what your favorite PEEP is or how well you like my cake
