Dr. Fresh is the creator of the Firefly® toothbrush, the number one selling kids’ toothbrush in the country. We are privileged to say our flagship product has helped children to develop excellent lifelong oral care habits, and proud that we can also help reverse the childhood cavity epidemic in our country.
Our products are always built on an ongoing dialogue with kids and families, and that is why we pride ourselves on being an “idea factory,” not just a manufacturer of oral care products. Three years ago, we established our annual “Be A Dental Inventor” contest for elementary school children. The contest has become a much anticipated element of February’s National Children’s Dental Health Month, and the entries are an ongoing source of inspiration for us. When a child’s imagination is fired, the world is a richer place. And we remind ourselves of that every day by keeping the fantastic toothbrush drawings we receive on the walls at our headquarters.
Through our contest and many other outreach programs, as well as our products, we at Dr. Fresh seek to engage and to educate, and to provide practical and affordable tools and solutions that work every day to combat childhood cavities.
Firefly Toothbrushes and Mouthwash
Having good dental hygiene is extremely important, when you have children you want to make sure that they understand it very early on. I could sit here and tell you guys that getting my kids to brush their teeth is easy but if I did that then I would be lying. There have been quite a few times when my kids simply didn’t want to brush their teeth or would whine about it. During those occasions it’s mainly my 7 year old who has a problem with it and doesn’t see why it’s important. Usually when this happens I explain why it’s important, why it’s needed twice-three times a day and that it isn’t up for debate. After conversation she falls in line, brushes her teeth and then tells me thank you for making sure her mouth stays healthy. Since we began using Fireflys fun, creative and awesome toothbrushes I have noticed the whining has stopped as well as the not wanting to brush. My kids are very eager to brush their teeth now and have a blast while doing it, when using Firefly brushes it has turned into more of a game.
Currently my children use the Star Wars Lightsaber Light Up Time Toothbrushes, in the picture above they are the ones out of the packaging. These brushes have sound effects, lights up and encourages children to brush for the recommended 2 minutes which help to form healthy brushing habits. The batteries for the brush are included and will last the life of the toothbrush, once they stop working it’s time to get another. That is a great reminded for parents when the batteries die because it will remind you to get your kids another if you forget. After my kids have brushed for the full 2 minutes they know to rinse their toothbrushes off and place the cap on it so they can have a light saber battle! The other three toothbrushes (2 star wars in packaging and 1 hello kitty in packaging) do not make sound but they do light up. When the light is green it means go, yellow means continue and red means stop once its done flashing. As for the Hello Kitty Anti Cavity Mouthwash it conveniently has a no mess cup that is attached to the bottom of the bottle which makes the measuring easy, correct and simple. The mouthwash features a fun pump, is sugar free, alcohol free, available in tasty Melon Kiss flavor and contains fluoride to help fight cavities while strengthening enamel. We have tried a mouthwash with my daughter before and it wasn’t a success. The flavor was bubble gun but it had a sour taste to it that not even my husband or I liked. The Firefly Hello Kitty Anti Cavity Mouthwash is just amazing, it has good flavor and my daughter loves it.
With the holidays coming up it means your children will be indulging in many sweet treats. Having some products from Firefly will make sure your kids teeth stay healthy all while they have a blast using them. There toothbrushes make the perfect stocking stuffer and they will be one toothbrush that you kids would love to get for Christmas!
