Her 3 Little Thinkers

Child Safety Store Review

Child Safety Store

When we know that a new child or grandchild will be entering our home, we need to make sure that every part of our home is safe for that little one. Childproofing is great from crawling age all the way up to toddler and sometimes even past depending on what item of safety you are using. When I was approached by the Child Safety Store for a feature on the blog there was a few particular items I was in search of having 3 little ones under 7 and more importantly a very, very curious 20 month old. She gets into everything and touches everything.

The first product that I picked are the Kidco Swivel Cabinet and Drawer Locks. I picked these because I live in an apartment and only needing them currently on one set of cabinets where I keep our tools and cleaning supplies, I can still remove them when I move. These locks can swivel when they are not in use and put back into position when in use.

Another product I was in desperate need of is the Safety 1st Child Proof Clear View Stove Knob Covers (set of 5). My youngest one is very determined to touch everything she comes into contact with. My kitchen is very small so my kitchen table is close to my stove so I get worried when she gets on the chair she will accidently turn on the oven and will either hurt herself or burn the house down. These covers are oversized to fit most modern stove/oven knobs, and are heat resistant to withstand repeated use. Simply pop open the cover’s hinged lid to access the knob when it’s time to cook. They will keep your little one from turning them.

Another necessity I feel like myself and every parent should have is the Safety 1st Blind Cord Wind Ups. Us having so many window and blinds in our apartment, making sure the cords don’t hang low enough for the kids to pull on, or “eat”. The blinds came with our apartment so I couldn’t cut the blind cords short so they can’t reach them, so I found these that wouldn’t ruint the landlords property and still make the blinds useable. Just store the access cord and twist to make short or long.

Everyone has a power strip in their home somewhere. I have several- one behind my tv and another that is for my fish tank and bearded dragon. My little one loves to flip the switches to turn off the whole power strip and turns off the heaters, lights and everything! So, no matter how many times we tell her no, not to touch, get away- she will still touch!  When I was going through the Child Safety Store and saw this I flipped out and knew I needed this for my pets! It fits over your whole power strip to and adjusts to any size strip. This sure peaked her interest to what it was but after a few minutes she walked away and hasn’t bothered with it since. It’s been a Godsend!
