All Fish Faces
This past year my husband and I decided to get a big salt water fish tank because we have always had such a love and fascination for ocean life. We chose to go with a live tank instead of a reef tank because it was our first tank and we really didn’t know anything about fish or having a tank. My youngest son has been in love with ocean life since he was able to talk so getting this book All Fish Faces is going to make a great Christmas gift for him!
All Fish Faces is almost 70 full color pages of only tropical reef fish and fun facts about them. The author, Tam Warner Minton even has told the readers where in the world that the fish can be found. She has actually traveled and photographed these fish herself! I thought that I knew a lot about fish when we got our tank but reading her little book I seen more fish then I thought that there ever were! Made me want to hop online and learn even more about certain ones. One of the things I learned was about the Map Puffer Fish being so poisonous that it can actually kill 30 human with is tetrodotoxin! We looked into getting a puffer fish for our tank but read they get stressed out very easily and that causes them to “puff” and it’s not really good for them. I LOVE angel fish and I loved that she placed so many different species of angels in her book. I’m just floored at the different kinds of fish and the vibrancy of their colors. This book is perfect for adults or children. And 10% of the profits will go to the Marine Megafauna Foundation so they can continue their scientific research to protect our oceans and ocean giants.
About Tam (taken from website): My name is Tam Warner Minton, and I have loved to travel since I was a little girl. My husband and I traveled frequently, and as our kids grew up they traveled with us. When I became an emptynester, I began traveling more adventurously, and solo, as well as writing about my journeys, and thus Travels with Tam was born! My posts include many photographs, so if you love travel photography, food, wildlife and underwater photographs, you have come to the right place. I share stories about traveling, food, luxury hotels, adventure trips, scuba diving, and citizen science. I want to inspire others to get out and see the world, to expand their knowledge and enlarge their perspective. You can travel and “do good” for yourself, others and our planet at the same time!
